New Trailblazer Apprenticeship launches

Great news! The new Refrigeration, Air Conditioning and Heat Pump (RACHP) Level 3 Apprenticeship scheme finally launched last month.

The new ‘Trailblazer’ RACHP apprenticeship is unique in that it has been developed by employer-led groups, City & Guilds and industry bodies, the Institute of Refrigeration and FETA, to ensure that apprentices are equipped with all the skills and knowledge they require to be able to carry out their jobs competently, professionally and to the required standard.

Designed with practicality in mind, apprentices can be of any age and will be able to complete 80% of the course ‘on the job’ meaning less time away from work. Additionally, the modular nature of the training means that it can be tailored to individual and employer requirements.

Employers are eligible for government funding to cover two-thirds of college training costs with additional incentives for those employing younger people.

The launch is a really positive step forward for the industry, employers and apprentices alike. These high quality apprenticeships will help to drive up standards and equip the talent of the future with the knowledge, skills and behavior needed to have long and fulfilling careers in the air conditioning and refrigeration industry. Very welcome news indeed!
