Air conditioning upgrade of old stone building

Did you know that small and medium sized businesses in England, Scotland and Wales who are looking to reduce their energy consumption may be able to benefit from The Carbon Trust Green Business Fund?

Currently, for a limited period and on a first come first served basis, The Carbon Trust Green Business Fund is offering a capital contribution of up to 15% of the project cost (up to a max of £5,000) for qualifying businesses, when buying energy saving equipment, including air conditioning.

So how do you qualify?

The fund is open to SMEs in England, Scotland and Wales who demonstrate sufficient energy savings when upgrading their equipment*.

How does it work?

We were engaged by our longstanding client, Russell New, to overhaul their ageing and increasingly inefficient air conditioning systems, which were over 20 years old. In addition to their age, the systems all used refrigerant R22, which was banned in 2014 under the F Gas regulations and this was another compelling reason for an upgrade.

Here at Advantage Air Systems, we designed and specified a new Daikin UK heat recovery VRV air conditioning system to meet the heating and cooling demands of the building.

Once we had supplied our client with a design and quotation, Russell New approached The Carbon Trust for funding. Working with equipment manufacturer, Daikin UK (a Carbon Trust Accredited Supplier), we provided a detailed energy analysis to The Carbon Trust. This compared the existing and the proposed, new air conditioning equipment to demonstrate the significant energy savings that could be made by upgrading the system.

We are pleased to say that we were able to successfully secure the maximum grant for our client who was equally delighted!

“We can’t thank Advantage Air Systems enough. Not only have they designed and installed an extremely energy efficient heat recovery VRV air conditioning system but they have also helped us obtain the maximum grant available from The Carbon Trust Green Business Fund. We are thrilled with the results all round and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Advantage if you’re looking to upgrade your existing air conditioning systems.”

Have you got an ageing air conditioning system of a reasonable size? If so, we may be able to help you secure funding through The Carbon Trust. To discuss your air conditioning requirements, simply get in touch or call 01306 626282.
