Conservatory air conditioning – your heating and cooling needs covered

Conservatory air conditioning

Modern conservatories have come a long way since the eighties where they were originally viewed as a cheap way to add an extra room. Infamously boiling hot in summer and freezing cold in winter, little thought was given to how best heat and cool these polycarbonate roofed, uPVC extensions.

Improvements in weatherproofing, glass technology and modern building materials coupled with sophisticated designs has made conservatories far more desirable. Light, bright and better integrated into the home, these spaces are perfect for relaxing, entertaining and bringing the outside in.

Often during the planning and build stage, consideration is given to the heating requirements of the space, frequently in the form of traditional radiators or underfloor heating. However, the cooling needs can often be overlooked. Despite the progress in technology, thermally efficient glass isn’t sufficient alone to keep your conservatory at a comfortable temperature throughout the summer months.

Air conditioning systems benefit from being able to both heat and cool a space very efficiently. Far more energy efficient than electric underfloor heating or electric radiators, a simple split air conditioning system is often all that is needed to keep your conservatory comfortable throughout the seasons.

Modern systems are unobtrusive and come in a range of contemporary designs and colours. They are also extremely responsive, quickly getting to the desired set temperature. Controls can be as sophisticated as you want them to be, from the standard programmable 7-day timer to mobile apps that can be managed remotely.

Residential customers can also benefit from a reduced rate of VAT, just 5% currently, when installing air conditioning (primarily for heating) in a domestic property.

Here’s what one of our valued customers had to say:

“Having had air-conditioning installed in our domestic property, we have found we use the conservatory all year round. Cooler in the summer, and with the heating function, warm and cosy in the winter. Advantage Air Systems are a professional team who showed respect to our home while installing the equipment and continue to care for the system with regular maintenance visits with the same thoughtfulness.”
