The simple answer is that routine air conditioning maintenance will save you money in the long run. Plus for newly installed air conditioning equipment, it will ensure that manufacturer warranties are honoured. Not dissimilar to servicing your car, if you look after your air conditioning it will look after you.
Optimum performance
Regularly maintained systems work at their best and most efficient, ensuring running costs are kept to an absolute minimum. Additionally, equipment is better able to handle extremes of temperature if dust and dirt are not allowed to build up.
Reduced emergency call outs
Planned preventative maintenance (PPM) substantially reduces the likelihood of costly and inconvenient breakdowns. No one wants to have to manage uncomfortable staff and even more importantly, if your system is business critical what happens should your air conditioning fail?
Small problems can be dealt with early before they manifest into more serious faults. Condensate drain issues are one common example. If left unattended, they can become blocked with dirt and debris resulting in leaks which can potentially damage ceilings and floors. Routine maintenance means these drains are cleared regularly reducing the chances of blockage.
Manufacturer warranties maintained
The good news is that newly installed equipment comes with manufacturer warranties of up to 5 years (sometimes more). However, manufacturers do insist that their air conditioning systems are routinely maintained for them to remain valid. If you have had a system installed recently, best to get PPM in place!
F-Gas compliance
Air conditioning systems over a certain size and refrigerant GWP (global warming potential) must be leak checked at least once or twice a year with associated records kept. In line with statutory F-Gas regulations owners/operators must comply. Something that your chosen air conditioning contractor can manage for you. Make sure that they do!
